Go!
Jessica solves FROSTY THE SNOWMAN.
Just before bed comes a terrific trio: Chris Shields: Retired NYC firefighter with Ladder 143, from Bayside, NY They don't sound like they're going to be ready for bed anytime soon, so let's just do another Toss-Up.
Go!
Chris solves CHARITY AUCTION.
They all sound like they've got what it takes, so maybe one of them can get it just right...and hit that one-third $10,000 space.
Chris solves TWINKLING LIGHTS. He then shares some love with a hug for Pat.
How about a quick break from the stage lights? Let's look at a Ski vacation at club med in Crested Butte, Colorado (labeled CLUB MED) worth $4,610. We can certainly share some love with someone if they can claim the Jackpot in this round:
Chris solves FISHING & NORTH POLE.
What might you end up fishing for in the Mystery Round? You could end up with a BANKRUPT, or you could catch a Honda Civic worth $14,070. Time for a puzzle:
Chris solves COUNTRY MUSIC STAR LEE ANN WOMACK to keep the ski vacation!
Needless to say, he's on fire...but could someone else douse him with this Toss-Up?
Go!
Still on fire, Chris solves IN THE NICK OF TIME.
Fire might be an understatement, as he starts this round with the $5,000 space on the Wheel...
...but will he solve now? He has plenty of money to do so, but someone else is holding a Free Spin...
(The buzzer does not sound on Jessica's incorrect P. Pat also prompts Elaine to spin again after the consonants are gone.)
Elaine solves SCHOOL LIBRARIAN for the house minimum.
Pat does not take the Gift Tag away from Jessica. Okay, Chris just got a little sprinkle that time. This next one might do just a bit more damage...
DING DING! DING DING! ...because Pat will give the Wheel a Final Spin, but Elaine and Jessica cheer for the silver wedge. Consonants are worth $900 + $1,000 for $1,900 a piece.
Jessica beats the buzzer solving GILMORE GIRLS.
The Gift Tag appears to be counted towards Jessica's total bringing it to $5,800, but it is corrected after the break. BONUS ROUND: Chris calms down for a bit, so maybe he'll have the energy for Bonus Land. He spins the wheel and lands on the C in CASH. Don't flame out now...
RSTLNE gives them:
A bit of help from CDGO gives him...
He gets EXCHANGE, but keeps missing the first word, including a funny guess of GOAT EXCHANGE. He does not solve GIFT EXCHANGE... ...so we can't give him a gift of $25,000. Who cares? He has nearly that much in cash and prizes already, and he leaves with $22,810. In the post-game chat, Vanna brings out her dad Herbert onstage. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Not only for the gut punch, but the random acts of insanity that make you cheer for total strangers, the brothers doing "YMCA," or the wife jumping into her husbands arms which led to the greatest ad lib between Pat & Vanna, etc, etc, etc). There's a reason this show has been on so long. I'll never quit watching. Hopefully, you won't either. |

Definitely not an X. Meh, it gives me an excuse to look at other details that I accidentally left out, such as highlighting the winner's score at the end of the main game. A number of recappers such as myself have templates. It speeds up the process, though there may be the occasional error such as forgetting a letter call (or leaving it as "X", in my case). Regardless, thanks for the polite notes. |
