How to Get Void Gauntlet Weapon in New World (2024)

A quick guide to help you learn what the Void Gauntlet is in New World and how to get this newly added weapon with Update 1.1!

With newly added Void Gauntlet having many sources of where to get it with New World’s “Into the Void” Update, we wanted to talk about the ways you can get it and why you might want to consider it for your builds.

What is the Void Gauntlet?

The Void Gauntlet is a Intelligence and Focus Hybrid weapon. It’s capable to strong close-range damage while having moderate ranged damage. The Void Gauntlet also comes with a myriad of healing, buffs, and debuffs it can apply by default and with perks.

It’s important to note that this is the first dual stat weapon where the attributes matter a bit more beyond just purely damage. While both Intelligence and Focus add to the damage of the weapon, only Focus will scale its healing effects. So it’s better to use it as an Intelligence weapon if you want to use it as a DPS weapon, and a Focus Weapon if you want to lean more on the supportive side of the weapon.

When should you use the Void Gauntlet?

With the way its attributes work out, the Void Gauntlet pairs excellently with the existing Mage Weapons. Most notably giving these weapons a strong option for close range damage. This alone gives it high value to Mages, but combine that with skills like Essence Rupture (Which heals for 20% of damage to marked target) and you have the recipe for a very durable mage when played optimally.

With it scaling using both Intelligence and Focus, you’re also open to use other weapons alongside it that may or may not use these stats. Without gems, it can still be a strong pairing with the Rapier. Using Gems however, it can also pair nicely with melees that may be lacking sustain of their own, giving them even stronger 1v1 potential.

Where to get the Void Gauntlet

To get a Void Gauntlet, all of the usual methods are available, however there’s only one reliable method among them. Between Quests, Loot, and Crafting; Only Crafting provides an easy route to picking up the Void Gauntlet.

Quests

Quests are unreliable, simply because there are no quests that actually guarantee a Void Gauntlet as a reward yet. Unlike many other weapons, there’s just not an option to get it outside of the Weapon Case quest rewards.

Loot

Loot is random, so you won’t always get this. However this is a good way to get your initial Void Gauntlet if you’re already 60, as a drop will also bump up your Expertise for the weapon (see our guide to Expertise in New World for more details). There are also Legendary Void Gauntlets that can be obtained from certain Elite Enemies or Expedition Bosses. We’ll cover a couple of these below that we’d consider to be a Best-in-Slot pickup.

The first of these is Warshade, which comes from the Kilgoran Elite Mob, who resides in the Earth Shrine Landmark in Ebonscale Reach. Sporting 20INT/10FOC, Enchanted, Mortal Power and Luck makes it a fairly decent early pickup. The Open Gem slot allows it to be quite flexible. Enchanted and Mortal Power are both strong pickups for building around Void Blade

Next up is Wild Blight, which drops from the Mirepaw Elite Mob who resides in The Congregation Landmark in Weaver’s Fen. This one also similarly has 20/INT/10FOC Enchanted and an Open Gem Slot. But pack both Keenly Fortifed and Keenly Empowered, both or which has synergy with Void Blade’s high damage and close range.

The last one is one for the more supportive side of the weapon, Dark Vengeance. The unfortunate is that this is a general legendary drop, meaning any mob in a level 60 zone can drop it and does not have specific spot to farm it. This one has 20FOC/10INT, Lifestealing, Blessed and Refreshing Move. Lifestealing is a bit of a waste here, as the Void Gauntlet already has that innate to its Heavy Attacks. However Blessed and Refreshing Move are both great options for a healer. Blessed in Particular also doesn’t appear to be an option that can naturally roll on a crafted Void Gauntlet either.

Crafting

Crafting a Void Gauntlet via Arcana only requires Death Motes (or higher tier equivalents) along with appropriate tiers of Leather, Cloth, and Metal. This makes it a relatively easy craft without too much investment.

If your Arcana is maxed out, you can also produce them up to GS 600, with the Arcana crafting fixes applied in the update. Below are our recommendations for crafting this weapon and going for BiS weapons.

DPS Crafting

When crafting as a DPS Weapon, make sure you’re absolutely using the Arcane Linen Embroidery to guarantee maximum Intelligence Rolls. For Perks you’ll want to look to roll Enchanted, Vicious/Rogue, and Keenly Empowered.

Enchanted will apply to Void Blade, boosting it’s damage while active and counting your attacks as melee, which enabled Backstabs to make high use of Vicious or Rogue. Keenly Empowered is nice here, as Keen isn’t always necessary due to the Void Gauntlet’s multiple critical chance buffs, this makes the Empower a stronger option.

Support / Healer Crafting

Here, we want to absolutely use a Sliver of Crystalized Azoth, as it’s the only way to Ensure we grab Blessed. This is especially important for making sure we have Blessed, even when not actively using the Life Staff. Alongside this we’ll want to roll Focus Attribute, Refreshing Move, and Kind.

Refreshing Move is important for keeping out skills active as much as possible, as both of the healing spells for the Void Gauntlet are Heal over Time effects. Keeping them going is vital to getting the most out of this weapon. Kind will help mitigate the aggro generated by Essence Rupture, as it’s not healing you have control over. So anything you can do to mitigate this helps a ton.
