Shouldn’t this be one word? Anyway, Josh the acting hopeful knew about A CATCH PHRASE and won the right to spin first.

Gift Tag: Sony Style

Round 1: EVENT

But he’s off to a slow start w/ T for trouble. Second, Rene called up two $300 N’s and a $550 R, but then bought a dud vowel of O. Third, Bea got the Free SPIN and Sony Style gift tag w/ G and S, respectively, but she had to give up the FS, because she repeated the G. Next up were a $350 W, two E’s, but then the $10K’s right side to clean her out of $1,100 cash & SONY gifts. After Josh missed w/ D, Rene lit up the frontloading B for $300, but LaTed out. After Bea’s $300 K to leave only vowels remaining…

Josh didn’t do any better w/ C for crud, so Rene’s back in control w/ three $300 L’s (almost got TD), two A’s, but then a CRITICAL DUD of D while on Jackpot. After Bea bought triple I’s, she said a $300 M and the last consonant of two $300 P’s…

A I R L I N E / &
P A L M
P I L _ T

…she won $1,300 and would have an AIRLINE & PALM PILOT for her trip to Mexico.

Moving on to Josh who lit up three S’s for $1,200 and two P’s on the MW (next to $900). He took a chance…and lost. Rene then said a $300 H and a $700 D…

S P A N I S H / _ O R D

We just missed the biggie, because the consonants were worth $1,600 apiece.

Rene: S (DUD)
Bea: N (DUD)
Josh: F (DUD)
Rene: D (DUD)
Bea: L
Josh: V

_ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _

Josh’s way off thinking it’s LOVE IT…”. Rene’s next w/ three T’s…

T _ _ _ / _ T / _ _
L _ _ V _ / _ T

but she said the right answer too late to throw away $4,800 and the title. Bea then lit up the K…

Bonus Round

After they checked the tapes, Rene was clearly beaten by the buzzer, so Bea’s up here. Anyway, the cars on offer this week was a 2003 Audi TT FrontTrak convertible and a 2003 Subaru Baja. After we see Bea’s sister and the sister’s friend, she landed on the A of CASH.

Category: PHRASE

Nothing but triple T’s to start…

_ _ _ T / _ T
_ _ T

She quickly frontloaded the alphabet (ABCD in that order), but that won’t do her much good…

_ A _ T / _ T
_ _ T

and she only got the last two words, so we would have to WAIT IT OUT on what she lost. After Pat tried to hide the envelope in his jacket, Bea took it out and said “Oh no”, because…

SHE WAS THE THIRD $100K LOSER THIS SEASON. OUCH. We should also note that the winner sadly passed away two years after this experience (I believe it was her daughter). May she rest in peace… 😦
